Commentary

In the majority of patients, NAFLD is associated with metabolic comorbidities and is generally considered as the hepatic manifestation of the metabolic syndrome. This review analyses the relationship between NAFLD and CVD, describes the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms that might link NAFLD to CVD and focuses on common cardiovascular manifestations in NAFLD patients.
