Commentary

Since there is a close relationship between insulin resistance and NAFLD, modulation of insulin resistance has a considerable interest in the quest for effective treatments of NAFLD. This review article focuses on possible mechanisms linking insulin resistance and NAFLD and discusses the main pharmacological approaches and their potential benefits, among which Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor (PPAR- γ/ α/δ).
