Physical frailty increases susceptibility to stressors and predicts adverse outcomes of cirrhosis. In this study, patients with NAFLD compared with alcoholic cirrhosis were older and had a higher proportion of females, higher BMI. The liver frailty index did not differ, and the prevalence of HCC was higher. Age, sex, serum albumin, and CRP were independent predictors of frailty. NAFLD patients had higher all-cause mortality and were more sensitive to the increase in liver frailty index, calculated using a web-based online calculator ( https://liverfrailtyindex.ucsf.edu ).
