The liver meeting has been fantastic. There’s a lot of new information so do check it out on their website. What I can say is the key thing for us as practicing doctors is that we need to increase our awareness and educate our patients and we need to diagnose early. There are new algorithms and new ways to use the imaging techniques we have in our clinic. Do not think you should not do it because there is nothing to do.
For improved patient outcomes:
Lifestyle, weight loss, pioglitazone, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor agonists help us now. The pipeline is rich in new compounds, some have not led to the results we have expected but there are many others coming and preliminary results have been fantastic, so keep working and finding your patients, educating them and stay tuned because the field is increasing very rapidly.
