Dr. Giada Sebastiani is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Hepatologist at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She obtained her medical degree and specialized in internal medicine at the University of Padua in Italy, and has undergone training in clinical and basic research at various institutions, including the Venetian Institute of Molecular Medicine in Italy, University College of London in the UK, University of Bordeaux in France, and Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research in Montreal, Canada.

Her other honors include the Excellence Award for Medical Research of the “Academician Marin Voiculescu Fundation”, University of Bucharest, the Emerging Stars in Hepatology Award of the Egypt Gastro Hep Congress (Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver), the Top 10 cited papers 2006-2008 Award by Journal of Hepatology – European Association for the Study of the Liver, and the Award of the Serbian Congress of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Sebastiani is a sought-after speaker and has been invited to speak at 40 international congresses and universities, including the European, Asian Pacific, and Canadian Associations for the Study of the Liver, Asian Forum on Liver Fibrosis, European Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism, Association of Gastroenterologists of Quebec, International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists, University of Ioannina, Romanian Association for the Study of the Liver, and University of Belgrade.

Dr. Sebastiani’s leadership is evident through her memberships and associations, such as serving as a panelist for guidelines of the European Association for the Study of the Liver “Non-invasive tests” (2020-), European AIDS Clinical Society guidelines (2019-2020), and consensus on models of care for NAFLD by the International Liver Foundation (2020-). She is also a founding and steering committee member of the Canadian NASH Network (CanNASH) (2018-), endorsed as a special interest group by the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver (CASL).
